Hi, my husband,2 1/2 year old, and 7 month old are thinking about relocating from Saratoga Springs NY to Wellington Florida. I get severly depressed in the long, gray winters here (seasonal affective disorder), and am looking for a nice family atmosphere in the sunshine state. What are the HONEST pros and cons of Wellington/Royal Palm beach area?

Default Wellington would be nice...

if it weren't for the lead and arsenic they've been finding in the water and the land in some communities there. Be very, very careful where you pick to live in Wellington. Do your searches to find the safe pockets. Then again, wouldn't all the water in the are be affected?

Most of those findings were in a new development and they have since stopped building there. Most people don't really drink tap water anway, it doesn't taste very good, but it is safe to cook with. Get a filtered water line in your refrigerator and you'll be fine. Wellington is a great area for families and kids, lots and lots to do, wonderful weather, shopping, restaurants, and we have a huge gorgeous mall here. We are also from NY and love it here, but due to a job change we are relocating after school ends to St Augustine area which may also be an option for you. PM me if you want any more info, for schools, I would stick with Wellington rather than Royal Palm Beach.

Both are good choices for families... nice family area with good schools, restaurants, malls etc. The only down side might be that it is western suburb so the beach is far away. But I am sure that is not the deciding factor.
