Hello -

Anyone have the scoop on a dive pool hall in the downtown WPB area (Northwood hills south to lake worth)?

You know, a place where a 30-ish newbie will feel welcome, cold beers, maybe a dart board and a jukebox, and certainly crappy coin tables for people like me that suck at pool but still like to play. Nothing too fancy - nothing too 'hells angels' ... something in the middle.

Thank you

I don't play pool, but there's Boynton Billiards just West of I-95 in a plaza on Okeechobee Blvd.

If you don't mind the gay scene, Google lists HG Roosters as being a place to play pool.

If I remember correctly, I think Roxy's Pub has pool tables as well, which is on Clematis street.

Lost Weekend, upstairs from Dr. Feelgoods on Clematis, has two or three tables too........ and pretty girls..... all over the place.
(unlike Roosters).

The Little Owl just north of downtown LW has one or two pool tables. More of a dive bar than pool hall.

Airport Billiards (formerly Grover's) is just north of Southern on Military and is the definition of an old pool hall. It's a bit rough but I never got hassled.

I'd second Lost Weekends, although it's a bit pricey since it's part of Feelgoods. I've always liked the vibe upstairs; it reminds me for some reason of a college dorm.

South Shores in downtown Lake Worth has a pool table and a neighborhood bar atmosphere, along with good live music on the outside patio.
