is anyone familiar with these condos? my friend and i are moving to wpb in the summer and so far these are our favorite in our price range. we want to be in a good location but not go over 1200/month if possible. the lakeshore club condos looked super cute from what we can see online, but we can't find TOO much info about them!

Eh, it's in an OK area.... just one full of old people (Lands of the Presidents area) and not as convenient to downtown.

Your price range can get you a two bedroom in Cityplace or downtown West Palm Beach.

Looking at Craigslist,

For 1200, you can get a 2/2 rental at the Cityplace Courtyards, a 2/1 at Cityplace tower, and a 2/2 at the Montecito.

You can also find 2 bedrooms at Flagler Pointe (next to the Slade building), a bit North of downtown, and the Whitney, which is right downtown and walkable to Clematis and Cityplace...

If you find a listing that is maybe just over your budget, have your realtor submit an offer for $1200. Remember that many downtown buildings come with free water and free basic cable.

Again, Lakeshore condos are fine, but there's better!

can i ask, what is city place? i hear people talk about it a lot... is it just a condo complex? or is it an actual location? lol

Yeah, you don't want to be over there. Cityplace is an outdoor mall with a lot of restaurants/shopping. You can check on realtor.com for rentals, or if you need assistance I can give you a hand. Whatever you do stay away from the Edge. Portofino is a nice place, a little further away from downtown, but when I worked in the restaurants downtown a lot of my co-workers lived there. P.S. If you do use a realtor please only use one. (unless they are no good) I had a woman contact me from the forums last week for a rental. Showed her some very nice places that were fit what she was looking for. 2 days later I see her walking up to the building I live in with another realtor.... I was disappointed to say the least.

so you are a realtor? that's good that means you know all kinds of great places! i wouldn't use more than one... i've never even used one at all so i think having more than one would just confuse me LOL!

i know what type of place i want to be in, but i just don't know what we can get in our price range. i'm not moving until summer sometime, but he'll be moving in february or march. i'd love some place really close to the water. but if it's not in our budget, it's not in our budget. i'm going to go to realtor.com right now. i probably should just wait to look at stuff until we are ready to move, but it's such a tough decision that i want to have clear ideas for when the time comes! know what i mean?

Cityplace is one of two main entertainment/dining districts in downtown West Plam. The first is the Clematis street district.

Cityplace has shops, supermarket, dining, a movie theater, comedy club, etc., all within walking distance. There's a lot of young people (students), young professionals, and adventurous NY retirees that live there.

I lived there for a year and thoroughly enjoyed it. My boss lives in a townhouse in CityPlace and enjoys the atmosphere at age 50, while another co-worker lives in a condo above Pottery Barn and enjoys it as well.

We moved from the Midwest and we really like it in this area. Sorry to hear you have to suffer through another winter before you come down here We're moving a little further South of here because that's where my job is, and the nearest Super Target. (if you've never been you are missing out)
Cityplace is a nice area, Clematis St. is pretty nice too.

Isn't the Target being re-built on Palm Beach Lakes a Super Target?

Good point, that old one always smelt like mold though.
