I am thinking about maybe opening a bakery in Northern Palm beach County. I have started from the house have gotten a catering job and other orders for the holdiays. I am just not sure if the community will support store front bakery. I would like it to be like a NY bakery style/FL bakery. I don't know why there is really no bakeries around. It seems that all we have is Publix. Does anyone have any feed back on that?

I know that in North Palm Beach there is Tulipan bakery, which also has a location in West Palm Beach.

At PGA and A1A, there's also a French bakery, but I forget its name. Some people also use Panera as a bakery, though I think it's a bit overpriced there!

Given the development pattern in North County, I guess for most people Publix is just more convenient, but I think if done right, people will flock to indpendent bakeries.

Tequesta has Cakability which is an awesome bakery. One of the owners was a pastry chef at Tavern on the Green in NYC. Their cakes and macaroons are to die for.

Maybe something in Palm Beach or Wellington.

I know in Boca area people get baked goods at the Jewish deli's too. I wish there was a nice bakery by though I know you want northern Fl. On the affordable issue I think it would be nice too if there is a range of prices. That way if someone is having a big party it does not cost a fortune.

I think Cakeability is no longer there. It was sold. The cupcake shop is nice but that is all they have is cupcakes. I live in Jupiter it would be great to have a bakery in the community where I live but I just not sure if it could make it. I also thought about some where in Palm Beach Gardens.

You are correct Cakability is gone. They have sold to Palm Beach Bakery. When I did a search to see if they have moved, search results have them located off Indian Creek Parkway on Mocassin Trail.

Regardless of what Publix,Winn Dixie or any of the other ones have to offer, there are people out there that will still go for "something more and different". All you need to do is to figure out how to offer that "something more". You will find out that a lot of people are willing to pay a little more fot that "something Special"

Panera Bread stores around Royal Palm and Wellington are all doing awesomely well, the fact that there are several places selling generic bakery stuff at cheaper prices not withstanding.

Good luck!
