Hi there,

I am a very progressive, liberal lesbian trying to decide between moving to West Palm Beach or Lake Worth. I like things like yoga, meditation, organics, sustainable and simple living. I prefer older, historical neighborhoods to subdivisions and strip malls.

Any help you can provide is greatly appreciate.

Southend West Palm (South of Okeechobee Blvd.) and certain neighborhoods of Lake Worth have tons of historic neighborhoods with tons of character.

Check out, in West Palm: Mango Promenade, Grandview Heights, Flamingo Park, Southland Park, El Cid, Central Park/Monceaux. South of Southern is also a nice area with older (not necessarily historic, though).

There's a yoga studio basically in Flamingo Park and Grandview Heights (right across the street from the neighborhoods). There's a farmer's market in downtown West Palm every Saturday except during the summer.

In Lake Worth, there is Parrot Cove, College Park, and the neighborhoods around downtown that are close to the water.
