Long Term Boat Rentals? (West Palm Beach, Palm Beach: vacation, best, areas)

Hi there,

On a map I see that the western tip of the Bahamas is about 60 minutes east of West Palm Beach.

Are there boat rental places that would rent a 25-30 foot boat for 6 days or so, to head to the Bahamas for a mini-vacation?

Is this even feasible? Has anybody done this? Would a passport be necessary?

there are several places where you can do this. try florida yachts out of miami.

Bimini in the bahamas is 45 miles from MIa or FLL. out of WPB best bet is to head to west end.

However most of the rental places will be in the miami or keys area. I like Bimini. You will need a passport. the entry fee also is under a 35 ft boat- $150 over a 35 ft boat- $300. Some cool areas there and gun/cat cay are cool also. complete other world from se florida.

also you will have to prove experiance if you rent from a charter company. Crossing the Gulf stream can be a bit "adventurous" under wrong conditions-winds with a strong North componant. However its usually better in the summer with a greater chance of a less bumpy ride.

this trip will be expensive , best bet is to get several couples to split the cost.
