I received a call from a fellow from the Pocahontas County division of the WV Dept. of Natural Resources. Evidently they have a job opening, and someone recommended me for the job. I will be in Elkins on Wednesday for the interview.

Good luck, Newt! Maybe you could become an engineer on the Cass train.

Snorpus, I could only be so lucky! I LOVE Cass! But it's a wildlife management position on a WMA in Pocahontas county.

Well, the interview went...

I felt like I was back in school: I had to ID skulls and trees and berries and grasses! They asked a lot of questions I wasn't prepared for, I suppose; like cover crops for turkey poults. Uh... warm season grasses, little bluestem?

I start my 'fallback plan' job in August, and the DNR said they would be letting people know in September, so I'm off to Illinois until further notice.
