CLARKSBURG'S FBI CENTER GETTING $142 MIL EXPANSION - 2000 Additional Jobs In The Works
(10/01/2010)
Turner Construction Co. has landed a $142 million contract to build a Biometrics Technology Center at the FBI complex in Clarksburg.
The complex, which employees about 2,500 people, is the legacy of Senator Robert Byrd.
The 360,000 square-foot, four-story building will nearly double the size of the Criminal Justices Information Services Division.
When finished, it will accommodate nearly 2,000 new employees.
Sen. Jay Rockefeller says the expansion lets the FBI and the Department of Defense create new, good-paying jobs for West Virginia and builds on the state's growing biometrics industry.
Most of the Federal Jobs begin at $65,000 per year...and our region can absorb about 9,000 people per year.
The legacy of RCB is strong and doing well for NCWv...
Who will come?
Outsiders with Degrees...good families with out welfare and drug problems....people who will demand the best schools and public servants...
Public Servants??? that puts a date on me...lol...when did we last hear them addressed as such...
And our own people who can make the cut...good for us...good for Wv!
When the country begins to recover in the coming Spring, Wv will be in a wonderful position to invest in it'self...
money from every direction...
job stability...
incredible natural resource investment...
touting the new 25,000 acre Boy Scout facility (which will bring over 200,000 scouts per year to Wv)...
plus the recreation...
but most of all...a good people...honest and worth giving the gift of respect and character.
I agree, and speaking of the new Boy Scout camp in Fayette County...
I was in New Orleans and talked with a man from NYC who is a long
time scout leader. They are excited about the opportunity to participate
at the new location. I think that will be a big plus for that area.
That's great news for North Central West Virginia! I hope to return someday. The Pittsburgh area isn't bad, but the longer I stay here, the more I miss home.
