So I just accepted a position in Bridgeport and will be coming to the area in a few weeks. I was curious as to what I could expect to find as far as housing. I was probably going to be looking for a 1 or 2 bedroom. Any information on what is around, rents, utility companies etc... would be greatly appreciated.

I also have Verizon for my cell phone provider and was curious how their coverage is in that area. Thanks is advance for all the help.

Rentals in Bridgeport are hard to find. Most of the rentals in Harrison County tend to cluster in the neighboring bigger city of Clarksburg.

Here's a link to the local paper. There are some listed in the classified section. Clarksburg Exponent Telegram Online (http://www.exponent-telegram.com/admarket/real_estate/ - broken link)

I had Allegheny Power for my electric (my place was all electric, kind of rare in the area) when I lived in Clarksburg. The gas company is Equitable Gas. I think it is the same for Bridgeport. In the unincorporated areas, there are different utility companies, but the landlord should know the correct ones to use.

I still have Verizon and I had no problems except in Morgantown for some reason. North of Morgantown into Pennsylvania I was no longer in roaming.
