If you have time look at “Gauley Bridge [domain blocked due to spam] “ Whipkey’s leaving Gauley Bridge police department, the Charleston Gazette has a couple of stories “Gauley Bridge Speed trap”, and Steve Korris-Statehouse Bureau “Prosecutor feels like bull in bullfight before Justices”. This town of 750 people issue more speeding tickets than any other city or town in WV. Tourism is big part of our economy. I don’t think it is good advertisement for the State.
It makes sense to raise the limit on the Interstates. It is artificially low, and I am convinced the police activity there actually causes more accidents than it prevents. Very few people actually honor Interstate speed limits unless they know a cop is in the vicinity. They should, however, put double fencing in the median like they do in Germany.
It's a small town with no interstate.
If you don't want to obey the speed limit then pay the fine
and accumulate the points on your license.
Ant questions ? ? ?
.
Yeah, When westbound and trying to get out from in front of a flatland trucker who burnt his brakes out on on the mtn... will the GB po-po let you last till you hit the 2-lane, and let him around... or get you at the city limits sign? (and ignore the semi)
I'm all for an 85 MPH Limit like they have in Montana....evidently the herd needs thinning...I drove up to Pittsburgh today and many were doing 85 or better. It might be time to raise the limit, after all Nixon is dead.
Where in the world did you get the idea that Montana has a 85 mph speed limit ? Totally not true. The two interstate freeways in Mt. have 75 or less.
The state highways are 70 or 65.
