Hello everyone, Im new here, but not new to forums. I have a 66 chevelle SS396 that I am trying to gather some information on. Any help would be much appreciated
It was purchased at Nicholas County Garage/Chevrolet new and was drag raced in the surrounding areas for years. It is Madeira Maroon with a painted black top (factory) with black bucket seats and is a 4 speed. I am trying to locate the cars original engine and collect some information on it. David Gibbs bought it new and drove it down to his mechanic in the Richwood area (Cowen maybe) and pulled the original engine out of it with only 36 miles on the odometer. He put a 427 in it and raced it. When he sold the car to Mr. Claude (Bud) Wilson in 1968, he included the original engine with the car. The engine sat in Bud and Bus Wilson's (his dad) shop for years. They continued to race the car. Later the shop was sold and Bud's nephew inherited the car. That is who I bought it from.
