The body of Nicholas H. Null will arrive at a time to be determined Friday in Wood County where a memorial service will be held on Sunday for the U.S. Navy chief who died when a helicopter carrying SEALs and other servicemen was shot down Aug. 6 in Afghanistan, a spokesman for the family said Thursday.

Null, a chief explosive ordnance disposal technician (explosive warfare specialist/freefall parachutist/diver,) will arrive at the Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Airport from Dover Air Force Base, Navy Lt. David Bennett, a spokesman for the family, said.

A private memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Parkersburg South High School. A military funeral and interment will be held at Sunset Memory Gardens.
