The city of Hurricane is looking at constructing some trails and paths that will allow for biking, running, walking, ect... and will connect important community places like the High School, Downtown, and even Walmart. The plan looks good, and I think could be a model for other WV towns.

I have some friends in Hurricane who will appreciate that. Perhaps they could model it after our hugely successful trail system in Morgantown.

According to the article, it's being modeled after Huntington's Paul Ambrose Trail for Health.

What a cool name for a city.

How did it come about?

From wiki: Hurricane was named after Hurricane Creek, which was, in turn, named after a group of trees at the mouth of the river bent in one direction. A party of surveyors commissioned by George Washington noted the site appeared to have been struck by a hurricane,[4] giving rise to the name. Less than 17 miles south-east of Hurricane is a post office named Tornado.
