I don't know, but I doubt it. I do know that they are trying to get off of state funding and become self efficient. Plans for a hotel, and shopping can help that along.
I've been there three or four times while passing through. It is pretty nice, but I highly doubt it turns a profit. My hunch is it is state subsidized.
One more Tamatrac is not enough...and part of the surplus millions garnered in with the tourism department could fund these..Gateway entrances into our state.
VanGough was never profitable...never even sold one painting in his lifetime..so who cares about the money...art is art...and a price cannot be rendered on a priceless culture.
We live in a would of instant gratification...seeing Wv in a wonderful setting at each interstate gateway would do a lot to change a rabid mentality outside our borders..
It would also appeal to the best of those who would want to share this wonderful safe state.
It's not about the money on this one...sorry.
Having Tamarac hidden away in the middle of Wv has said a lot for that store.
You don't need a bunch of them, but they should build them near areas where there are is a large artistic presence. The junction of I-68 and I-79 would be a good location. One along I-70 would also probably do well. I'm thinking they could support one along I-64 near Huntington too.
Id think good spots would be in Wheeling, due to its proximity to Pittsburgh, and in Martinsburg due to its proximity to DC.
