My son will be starting kindergarten this fall and we are debating whether we should send him to Driswood Elementary or St Joe's Catholic school in Martinsburg. Ideally we would like to move to Western PA in the next year or two so we are trying to determine which school system would prepare him best. Any thoughts or experiences???
Don't know about any Catholic schools, God knows, but I can tell you that our kid has gone to Driswood for 2 years now (it's 2 years old) and we're very happy with it.
Ms. Osborne seems like a friendly, enthusiastic, caring, and hard-working principal. Really keeps the focus on the kids.
And our kid has done well, enjoys his teachers (well, as much as possible), and hasn't had any issues, so they must be doing something right.
My daughter's family is in Martinsburg. The elementary schools are just fine there, but they have a hard time keeping teachers because nearby MD and VA pay a lot more.
Just for the record, Driswood is in Shenandoah Junction, kinda the midpoint between Charles Town, Harpers Ferry, and Shepherdstown. Close by Sam Michaels Park, off of Job Corps Rd.
