Sprint 4g in Mburg and 3g everywhere else in the area with unlimited data.
Unless things have changed in the last 8 months I would disagree. When I had sprint in Inwood I could barely do anything online via phone, my current 1x on verizon is faster. However, Martinsburg limits may be different, but didn't work well for me.
I live in Charles Town but in M'burg almost everyday. Had Tmobile for 6 years with NO coverage near Jefferson HS etc. so when the plan expired I asked all of my children's friends I could and they said Sprint or Verizon was the way to go. A friend that works for Verizon told me they were getting rid of the unlimited data so I went with Sprint.
I just upgraded my phone from a 3g htc incredible 2 to a 4g razr maxx and it is working great. I still get spotty 4g coverage, but thats better then ok 1x coverage. I was getting 6 mbs down/ a sec with one bar, I live in inwood so anywhere north of there should get better service, since the tower is in hagerstown. I had more bars closer to 81, I live about 10 minutes off 81. At work in hagerstown, md I was getting 16 mb/sec down which is actually faster then my wifi at home. Very pleased, would definitely recommend an upgrade from 3g to 4g if you live close to 81 and north of inwood.

It goes in and out and I suspect it is mostly tests but I am actually getting Sprint's 4G LTE on my Evo 4g LTE in Inwood, Wv and relatively reliable through out Martinsburg, Wv. To be honest I am not sure how or why were getting 4G LTE so quickly (for Sprint) when most major cities are just now going online but I will not be complaining I Would venture to say the 3G coverage has improved lately in the area as well. When I had my original Evo 4g I never once saw a 4G WiMax connection in its 2 year life span. Some rural areas on the further side of Bunker Hill, Wv are still not seeing the love though and get poor if any signal at all.
I agree completely. Sprint service has improved alot in the eastern panhandle. I can keep a full 3G signal everywhere. Haven't tried LTE yet but friends have told me it's been coming in and out. But I get solid 1mb downloads with a EVDO Rev. A signal everywhere.
I had Verizon for awhile, I would get LTE, and roam all the time and that killed the battery. They expect $60 from me for a day and a half of use.
You better be careful and do your research before you get on the Sprint network they have a lot of white no coverage areas in WV, and PA both. That's no coverage period - voice, data, texting, roaming..nothing. They are still 3rd as far as I know when it comes to network size. Verizon and AT&T are the largest. If you're getting any 4G coverage at all on Sprint in WV you're really lucky and I would not plan on relying on it. You're probably just getting a very slight signal from a tower in Virginia.
I have pretty much boycotted AT&T and Verizon though their plans are a ripoff bloated with fees and I'm against the whole 2 year contract thing where they try to sucker you in with a shiny new phone.
