Florida-based Silver Airways is looking to provide air service out of 3 West Virginia airports.

The Exponent Telegram (Clarksburg Exponent Telegram Online (http://bit.ly/He3Yug - broken link)) says Silver submitted a proposal to the U.S. Department of Transportation to provide subsidized service for Bridgeport, Morgantown and Beckley.

Bridgeport airport director Rick Rock says Silver was the only carrier to submit a bid by Tuesday's deadline, and it's offering a 2-year deal.

Silver vice president Mickey Bowman says the flights would operate as they do now, as United Airlines Express to Washington Dulles International Airport.

Bowman says it's an all-or-nothing bid: Either Silver gets all three airports or it takes none.

He says negotiations are under way and should be wrapped up within a few weeks.

Colgan Air notified the airports last month that it would cease service.
