Those of us who live in NCWV are, of course well aware of the greatness of the local delicacy. Now that this great honor has been bestowed on the local staple, can't we just see all the local bakeries trying to be the "one" that produced the award winning variety.
We know there are copies and knockoffs out there, but if the pepperoni roll doesn't come from NCWV it is not even close to the real deal.

I agree the rest of the state wants to try and claim this piece of NCWV culture. Real pepperonis rolls are only from NCWV.
Yeah this is true. We eat them and enjoy them but it's just another food everywhere else.
