I'm still holding out hope that Braskem still likes the Wood County site...

Unlike building one in southern WV this makes sense.

Me too. It would give the area a nice boost, which we could use.

It would be nice to see this one end up in West Virginia for many reasons.

That could happen, but the real momentum is to build one near the wet gas source and state government seems to quietly sabotage efforts to build in the Northern Panhandle where it belongs, hoping for a pork lure, so it will likely end up across the river where they also have wet deposits, and the state will lose out as usual. NP folks will get to work there though... it's just that most of the tax money will go to Columbus instead of Charleston.

I fully expect that to happen CT. Our elected officials have never been able to see the big picture.

I'm no expert and there may be other areas further up river as well, but that site is probably one of the few pieces of land in this part of the state that's large and flat enough for a large facility.

Large, flat, access to river, rail, and highway, some existing infrastructure, proximity to existing downstream markets, experienced workforce, political willingness, and, most importantly, connected via pipeline to the heavier areas of the wet gas play (not that Wood County is very far away in the first place).
That's not to say that the NP is not an excellent choice as well, obviously.

Oh, they see the picture okay. They just have a distorted view of it. They fear prosperity and development in the northern part of the state because they believe it will further erode their dwindling political power base. That will eventually happen anyway in spite of their best efforts to hold us down, and when it does a backlash is all but certain due to their stupid tribal mindset.
