Well Sheetz lovers, I guess it is safe to say that the PA based company really likes all the attention that WVians give them because they hope to build 6 new stores per year in the Mountain State. The latest announcements for Sheetz include Ripley and a fourth one in the Beckley area. They claim to have contracts with several other locations along 77 and 79.
With this being said, Kanawha County is still without a Sheetz because of the lack of develop-able land for their size needs. The companies spokesperson says that it is actively pursing locations in the county, but is having trouble. This is a bummer for local residents, but at least they are trying.
It seems as though Parkersburg will get one before Charleston, which is sad. If they are building 6 new stores, with one each in Beckley and Ripley, then I would venture to guess that the other four are Morgantown (downtown, unfortunately), Jane Lew or Flatwoods, Mineral Wells, and the Emerson Ave. or Williamstown exit.
It's crazy to think that they want to build that fast in the state. I'm very upset that they can't get anything going in Charleston when Morgantown will have 5 and Beckley will have four. Plus Putnam and Cabell County combined have 7 and one of them is right on the border of Kanawha County.

There is nothing special about Sheetz. It is just a gas station/convenience store. I wouldnt worry about not having a Sheetz.
While I don't think Sheetz stations are all that special, it will be nice to have them in Wood County just to give the Speedway monopoly some competition.
