You'd have to include on the list the McKenzie kick that beat highly ranked Pitt...

Q: What's the greatest moment in West Virginia sports history?

A: Every time we beat Pitt!

It was nice that WVU beat Pitt in both college football and basketball in the last game of each rivalry forever winning it.

WVU walked away the victor and Pitt the loser.

That's not the last game. It is taking a break for scheduling purposes. Sometime in the next 8 or 9 years it will start up again. Pitt can't sell out their stadium unless we do it for them. They wanted to work Penn State into their next openings, but now that the scandal has happened there that series is tarnished.

That is a new rivalry with them. WVU won the last one. Pitt went home in defeat, and probably cried about the loss.

Yeah though Pittsburgh doesnt care about Pitt. Steelers, yes, but Pitt is the joke of the city.

There's actually a great deal of pride about Pitt sports in Pittsburgh, including with respect to the 16-1 basketball season so far this year. It is too bad WVU isn't on the schedule this year. I imagine people in the state might enjoy an opponent that wasn't so far away.

Pitt has a good basketball program, and they play in the best basketball league now. Their football program generally sucks though, and although the ACC has a couple good programs, in general they are in the right league for their level of football too because ACC football is the pitz.

Pitt was 7-6 last year. After WVU's 4-8 season, one of the greatest moments in recent West Virginia sports history presumably was watching West Virginia native Rick Trickett help guide Florida State of the ACC to the BCS national championship.

*Trickett and Fisher

I know you were being facetious, but we're always proud when good things happen to native WVians. Obviously it'd be nice if it was at WVU, but we don't share in some of the natural advantages other schools do.
