Were moving down to WV and I need to be within 1.5 hours or less to Charleston. It is just my wife and myself, late 30's, and we want to get a lot of land (100+ acres) and live far from people and noise, but still as close as possible to the general Charleston area because I have to go work there 2 days per week. We love mountains, hiking, biking, and being outdoors. Having higher elevation for cooler summers would be a HUGE plus.
I found this home in Culloden, very nice but is this an area you recommend based on what were looking for? Are there any other placed you would put on that list?
Culloden is a nice quiet area but is seeing growth with a few new developments built in the past 5 years. It's not high elevation though. Pretty much anything east and south of Charleston will be the mountainous areas you might want to look for. Beckley/Oak Hill/Fayetteville/Summersville, just a few towns you may want to check out.
