Exactly. The mall's website and social media haven't changed to the new brand either. I see that they are getting ready to put up the large pylon sign between the pad sites and I-81. Perhaps they're waiting for all of the new signage to be in place first. Still, I would think they would have had all of those details mapped out so on October 1st it would have been an actual, complete rebrand (like when City Hospital became Berkeley Medical Center seemingly overnight). Now it seems this will be a gradual process.
Drove by tonight and Mattress Warehouse seems almost ready to move in. Chili's site looks ready for a foundation and they are preparing land for Panera.
They're killing me with suspense! Who will the other tenants be? I still have my money on Longhorn Steakhouse.

All of this anticipation sometimes makes me wonder if there are actually any other tenants leased. Back in July it was indicated that "phase 2" would be announced "later this year". Hopefully something new will come soon.
As of tonight, all exterior signage seems to be in place for Chipotle and Panda Express. Chipotle's interior looks almost complete, and Panda Express isn't too far behind. I imagine they will both be able to open within the next month, maybe less. Fresenius doesn't seem to have any interior work started yet.
Today here in Colorado I was cleaning out some old boxes "from my past LOL" only to find a memo from WEPM/WKMZ "97.5 The Mountain" from September 1998 announcing how they and WWPX "PAX 60" are the "exclusive" broadcast media partners with The Martinsburg Mall meaning that nobody else at the time including WRNR or even WHAG-TV can do a broadcast directly inside the mall. I would imagine today since the mall and those radio stations are now under new ownership and WWPX is more/less today a repeater station ( not much in the way of Martinsburg there ) that contract is no longer in effect but with that being said I have to wonder. Does the Walmart there have a tire & auto center ?? When I had lived in the area I was told that Sears wouldn't allow Walmart to have one..but Sears is today gone from that shopping center. Many years ago when that mall had O'Shays ( a bar ) I seem to recall they too had some kind a clause in their contract between them and the mall that no other bar could open inside that mall. Even though O'Shays had been defunct for a good 15 years now has any bar ever opened inside that mall ??
Now I know many malls do have "exclusive" rights when it comes to their tenants and such but for some reason I had never heard of a such a thing in place for Hagerstown's Valley Mall or Winchester's Apple Blossom Mall. Not at all saying they don't just that I never heard that they did but anyway it knda makes me wonder that over the years that there were some stores or restaurants that had wanted to open up at Martinsburg Mall but due to this sort of thing couldn't do it.

It's a Supercenter, so I would assume that the Walmart does have the usual tire/oil change center.
I had read about "exclusive" rights on one of these very threads (it may have been about the "New Target Store"). Examples given were Martinsburg Outback (Hagerstown and Winchester Outback locations didn't come until later) and Winchester Costco. Maybe someone who has been in the area a while can give more insight into that part of the area's retail history.

If memory serves correctly I think Frederick County, VA gave Costco enough tax breaks for them to open up in Winchester back in the late 90s. I know they did the same for Kohls when they opened up their distribution center back in the late 90s and part of that agreement was to open up a store in Winchester.. Interesting enough the land where Costco currently sits on back in the early 90s was planned to be "The Benchmark Center" (or Centre ) which was to had been a 5000-8000 seat sports arena that was to had been jointly owned by Shenandoah University-Frederick County and The City of Winchester. Winchester's Q102 and 610 AM radio ( then WNTW now WXVA ) had got the naming rights to this complex since at the time they were owned by the now defunct Baltimore based Benchmark Communications Company. Long story short Winchester & Frederick County decided to say no to this and Shenandoah University would claim lack of money to build it on its own. Oddly enough here it is 20 years later and Winchester even today is still looking to build a similar venue to this but as of yet they are still "looking at it". I don't think Martinsburg had even considered such a project though I think Charles Town Races & Slots ( Hollywood Casino ) did but they too would never build such a thing. Its a shame too since the four state could use this.

While the Martinsburg Walmart is a Supercenter, it does not have a tire & lube center. This is unusual for a Supercenter, but I would assume it does have something to do with Sears having one when the mall originally opened.
I don't ever remember another bar opening at the mall. It would be great if a microbrewery could open on the property.

Wow, I didn't know that. I wonder if that's usual for Walmart stores that were former mall anchors?
Tantan, have you heard/read about the project across from The Commons? Weis will be constructing a store and a whole new center across from The Common's entrance on Apple Harvest Drive. It isn't a huge project, but there seems to be quite a bit of leasing space for other tenants.
