A new strip of shops are in the works in the Lowe's parking lot along Apple Harvest Drive. Two of three spots are taken: Aspen Dental and Verizon.

I'm rolling my eyes at Verizon...especially as an end cap. That would have been a great spot for a coffee shop. I'm okay with Aspen Dental. I've heard good things about them as a company.

One space remains, it's the smallest and in the middle.

Awesome! How is the rest of the construction coming along?

Personal update: As of last month, I now live in Beckley for work so I won't be able to follow the construction process like I used to. I coincidentally live about a mile from Paramount's home office. I will still keep up with things online and check permits like I always have!

The Herald-Mail just announced two new restaurants are coming to Martinsburg. They are being built at the site of the former Ryan's buffet restaurant. Apparently, Blaze Pizza and a yet unidentified fast food restaurant are being planned for the site. See link to article below:

I love the Herald Mail. They get the scoop before any other local papers do.

Add to that only one man covers the whole eastern panhandle for The Herald-Mail...Matt Umstead.

Local outlets have entire teams of people...all I'm gonna say.

Great news, though! I wonder if they'll rebuild like they did with Texas Steakhouse or use the existing shell.

They have a PA reporter too. Many people in Franklin County prefer the Herald-Mail to the Public Opinion (Chambersburg's paper).

Never heard of Blaze Pizza....but looked at their web site and see that they mention using a very hot oven. That's a primary factor in quality pizza.

Hopefully they are good.

When I was a student statistician for Shepherd in the mid to late sixties, I could not call in game results.

They had me come into the office and compose/type my own story. I thought nothing of and enjoyed it very much!

According to the Herald-Mail, Starbucks is also a proposed tenant in the former Ryan's.
