So we've been having an issue with out natural gas in west virginia and the the gas company which is abarta has told us that the well doesn't have much gas left in it. We have had our local gas company check it and they say there is plenty of gas and they even got our gas situation figured out. The only problem is abarta doesn't want to let us use it. They say if we want to use it then we need to purchase the well from them. In our deed it says that we can connect to that well or any of the connecting wells. Instead of fighting with them we decided to consider buying 6 wells on our property from them. My question is how much should I expect to pay for just 1 well that they say is not producing enough gas?

Ok so I forgot to mention something. When we were having problems with our gas we had someone to come and check and he said someone is turning our gas off. We eventually found out it was our neighbor. So we had a professional come out and install and setup that would keep our neighbor from turning it off. This was all done after he looked at the paperwork that we had showing that we can hookup anywhere we want but its at our expense. He took all the steps to make sure the gas company was not liable too. So to make a long story short our neighbor didn't like the fact that he could no longer control our gas so he calls the gas company and complained. They came out and said they didn't care what the paper said and we we could only get gas if we purchased the well from them. We then asked why our neighbor is aloud to have gas even when he's not supposed to be getting it. Pretty much the guy said he didn't care what our neighbor was doing and only cared what we were doing. Come to find out our neighbor is friends with people who work for this company. So our thought was if we just buy the well so we don't have to continue to keep going through this and make sure we are the only one on the well itself.

We understand that but our thought is we could possibly sell the gas from the other wells so thats why we are exploring purchasing them. Just kind of need a ballpark figure to go off of. Thanks for the help though

There are so many variables involved (how much is the well producing? how much remains underground? all sorts of technical factors) that anything you get on here would be just a guess. Contact a lawyer and/or an oil & gas broker.
