I liked his program. I found him honest, insightful and entertaining. A very interesting person. He will be missed.

This is a hard one to take. Been a fan of his for years. I was so glad he didn’t come into WV with the smug pretenciousness typical of Wapo, NYT and Hollywood and fuel their toxic stereotypes. I wasn’t quite on the same page as him politically but he had great tastes in both food and music too.

Pictures of his wife hanging out with some dude in Rome last week now surfacing. Couple that with a history of drug use and depression. Starting to make some sense even though at the same time it doesn’t make sense.

He was a writer and a poet. He could talk to the camera in a four-table cantina 100 miles south of Tijuana with an 80-year old cook and a blind waitress and convince anyone that THIS IS THE PLACE
for the best meal in the Americas.

RIP. He did have a way with words to make food interesting. Something I never watched before.

Sorry earlier I referred to his wife. It was actually his girlfriend. He was in a fragile state of mind and apparently it looks like recent events sent him over the edge. It’s hard to believe that someone with an incredible life like his could have been so vulnerable but love or the idea of it does do strange things to people.
