All stores to close by November. While I hate to see a locally-owned business close, this along with the Elder Beerman closing could open up the Teays Valley Liberty Square shopping plaza to much needed re-development.

Very sad, especially for the little communities that have nothing else.

Quite a shame. I could actually find things there that I couldn’t often anywhere else and for decent prices. Some of their furniture was actually pretty nice. Elder Beerman I’m glad to see go. High prices and coupons that never seemed to work on anything. But Magic Mart, this one stings a bit.

I wonder what will be put in their place. Some of those smaller towns don't have very much local to work with.

The Beckley location just relocated to the former K Mart space not even two months ago. Very sad.

The retail diversity of this region keeps shrinking by the month. I travel quite a bit and regions outside of here have places like a Sears or a Kmart closing but they also have new places coming in. It is very sad.

At Liberty Square, if the tore down the MM building and half of EB, there would be enough room for a Target. Putnam County could certainly support one, and they've been rumored for the area as long as I can remember. As for the other Magic Marts, I wouldn't hope out much hope for them. They aren't in desirable locations for re-development.
