Both are next door to each other, but which is better in terms of quality of life, cost of living, jobs, healthcare, shopping, etc?

Bluefield always seemed to be more run down than Princeton which is next to the interstate and seems to have at least a decent amount of newer development. Neither would be considered 'thriving' areas but that could be what you are looking to avoid. Cost of living will likely be the same as they are right next door to one another and in the same county. Shopping- I think there is a mall in Bluefield then a large amount of big box stores in Princeton. I'd say many likely drive to larger malls in Roanoke, Virginia or up to Beckley. Jobs? I honestly do not know what the large employers are in that area - I am sure the mining industry is one of the bigger ones and probably the local hospital Bluefield Regional Medical Center.
