I live in the Tampa Bay area of Florida and would love to avoid the brutal months of August and September that we have here. I was thinking of spending those two months in WV. I love the outdoors, don't like crowds, etc. Does your state have a lot of visitors who think like I do? How would you describe the weather in WV during those two months? It could not match the humidity of my area, that I am sure of.

Katie is in the Eastern Panhandle, and Hurricanes do indeed visit her area. We rarely see any Hurricane remnants around Charleston, but we are on the western side of the Allegheny mountains. Over here, August is normally very hot and muggy with very little rain. September is normally more mild. Climate data for cities can be found starting at the City-Data home page, giving results like those found here for Charleston: https://www.city-data.com/city/Charl...-Virginia.html

August often seems hotter than the data shows. Sometimes the high temperature is over 90 degrees for several days in a row.

Elevation matters. The higher up you go, the more mild the temps. That said, anywhere would likely feel comfortable compared to Tampa, especially at night/morning hours.

I was there in August. I postponed due to Fred and headed back home just before Ida hit.

It was pretty warm the time I was there. Not much sun but pretty humid. I don't know how normal that was.

I've been there the end of September, definitely chilly in the morning but warmer in the afternoon.
