"As of July 1, 2018, West Virginia's total population was 1,805,832 people, which is 11,216 fewer than the year prior. West Virginia has reported a loss in population for five years in a row, becoming the fastest-shrinking of any state in the nation relative to population size. West Virginia and Illinois are the only states reporting losses in population.

The Mountain State's 10-year growth rate is 0.17%, which severely lags behind the national average rate of 1.09%."

A good story from the Herald-Dispatch regarding the significance of the upcoming Census and the repercussions West Virginia will and could face going forward from once the calendar rolls over to 2021.

Two other factors could influence the effect of the counts. The new requirement on the Census concerning citizenship status could have a positive effect in West Virginia, which has few illegals residing here and a comparatively low number of legal aliens who can't vote in elections in any event. In addition, shifting population trends in various counties will be reflected in the number of delegates those counties send to the state legislature in the coming years.

Looks like it will be Huntington as it is one of the few places in the country I can afford to buy a house and still be near bus service and medical and they have Nerd Conventions at the Big Sand Arena
