I'm contemplating trying to moving closer to my adult children who live in D.C to a region around Charles Town or Martinsburg. This will be a solo move I'm a female in my fifties.Do you think it's feasiable to be self substaining in this region on a minimum wage on little higher salary?

Why did you title this southern Ohio if you are looking to move (and posted in) West Virginia? Regardless, you need to check out the job market before making a move (also check into housing costs, cost of living, distance mileage and time-wise for where you plan to travel to)

Much of Southern Ohio is still 6-8 hours drive time from DC.

I changed the thread title in an attempt to reflect what is being discussed.

55+ You can: 2 Towers & Under 55: 3 townhouse stye complexes.

Housing Authority of the City of Martinsburg WV 25401, 703 Porter Ave 304 263 8891

HUD go by income [30%] Apts & they have list of Apts that have their own HUD processing.

The List WILL also include Apts in Charles Town WV

It was pretty confusing at first. The OP posted the title as Southern Ohio. But was asking about the EP and proximity to DC.

Luckily common sense prevailed. But like you said, info may help someone, not necessarily the OP
