I am looking to move to Shepherdstown so that I can attend SU in the spring. Besides Hagerstown where else should I look for work? I am looking to get into Industrial/Manufacturing because of my course load, but if anyone could give me actual names to companies to check into that would be great. I would like for my commute time to stay under 45 minutes if possible. Any help that you could give would be very much appreciated.

Thanks guys.

With all the lay offs in the area...look towards Frederick MD. Short commute better pay IF you do get a job! Also check into working on campus...most are min wage but no gas to commute!

No one considers 'work study'....wonder why...paid to study...I'd go for it in a heartbeat. When the smoke clears the amount of money is the same.

Verizon usually has a lot of summer temp jobs that open up this time of year. Bartec in Martinsburg assembles the green pedestals that house all the land and fiber connections for residential areas. The pay is generally good for temp work, they have a number of shifts you can choose from and the work is inside a large facility.

You could also look for work in Winchester as they have a number of industrial type jobs that may have some temp / pt work.

Winchester isn't immune to layoffs either, but there are probably more opportunities there:
