From all I've heard and experienced, I definitely would NOT say that Charles Town schools are below average. I'd say they're average or slightly above... just nothing real special.

Haven't heard much about private schools, I don't think they're that prevalent/popular/necessary around here. I remember reading about a Christian private school, but we had no interest in that. The one local kid I know of who went to private school did so in Frederick MD, 35 minutes away. That seemed kinda nuts to me, but to each his own.
