Will be traveling from Fredrick Md. to Ranson WV. weekdays at 4:30 pm on rt 340.What can i expect as far as time and traffic density?

Fridays can get a little hairy during tourist season (meaning summer mostly).

You'll be fine. Route 340 is an easy ride especially if you're going through the before 5-7 pm.

It's a beautiful commute also as you cross the river bridges.
