Any recommendations for places to take a kayak and/or inflatable raft out? I'm in Berkeley County, but neighboring areas in Maryland or Virginia are fine too. I don't want rapids, like on the Potomac near Harper's Ferry. I'm looking for an easy paddle trip with a kid along. Bonus, if he can climb out and swim too. I was thinking maybe Back Creek, but what are other spots? Any lakes with public access? Thanks!

Thanks for the input! I'm looking more for public access to put in our own kayaks, rather than organized trips and rentals. Anyone been to Sleepy Creek Lake?

Sleepy Creek lake is a great place for kayaking. It's limited to electric motors. So while you might see some fishing boats, you won't hear the noise of gas powered motors. Although I've not kayaked along it, I understand that Back Creek is also a beautiful stretch of water where you can kayak. And of course the Potomac is close by.
