I just wanted to get opinions from people who retired to these two areas from MD or other places, like on healthcare, Hospitals, pro's and con's ,if you made a mistake by moving there or why you like it a lot.

Hope you're not moving here for the healthcare/hospitals. They're adequate, but if you need anything more than that, you'll need to go to Winchester VA or Frederick MD.
And don't come here for the shopping/restaurants either. Again, they're adequate but not generally much special.
That all said... I really like it out here! We raised our kid here, and I think it's a great area for that. Plenty of activities for them out here, fresh air, not overcrowded -- it's like a small town, but not too small. I'm speaking for Shepherdstown & Harpers Ferry & Charles Town here.
It sounds like you're thinking of retiring here, no kids. In that case, I'm not sure what the lure to this particular area would be for you.

I concur with Spunkydawg. I moved here 20 years ago and totally enjoyed living and raising my kids here. One kid is close enough to see on weekends. Healthcare, shopping and restaurants are ok and there is plenty of outdoor activity in the area. My wife and I are content here and will probably live out life here. But there are other places in the country that offer all of the same amenities at probably a lower price point that would be nice for retirement.

Thanks to all, thought so! I posted a few of these on different states to get a vibe, probably going to southern DE. I like where I'm at near Annapolis but not the property taxes.

Thanks, have looked at Winchester VA, but all in all same taxes you would pay all together.
