The prospect of moving to Almost Heaven has intrigued me for some time and the existence of the Bridgeport-Clarksburg/Morgantown-Fairmont area has put a nail in my head with respect to the prospects they may hold for my particular line of work .

To be more specific I've been in the business of working as a " maintenance man " for various companies that contract with facilities unwilling to hire full time maintenance staff for some time now and ( unless I'm mistaken ) these two areas in WV have a decent amount of facilities where I could potentially ply my trade .

The potential of cheap land being easier to come by plus WV's more " simple man " friendly reputation , makes this idea all the more attractive to me .

Oh and I'm also interested in any general tidbits of info about these two areas as well , in spite of the focus of my thread title .

I would think once you obtained your contractor license, you could be kept busy once you completed sufficient jobs to get a good reputation.

Our state is hurting for getting repairs done quickly in most of our areas. (Just my humble opinion)

Does one have to have a contractor license to do this type of work in WV even if they work for a company ?

Thanks for the answer by the way !

Not as an employee but if you were to do your own business, yes.

I was thinking you were an independent contractor.

Nope I'm merely an employee and I don't think I'll go the independent contractor route since that involve way too much aggravation for a simple paperwork averse fellow like myself .

Thanks for the answer by the way !
