The show on the Travel Channel was Taste of America. Here's the description of last night's show:
Mark heads to Albany, Ohio to learn about the paw-paw. Then he trucks down to Fairmont, West Virginia to taste the pepperoni roll. Then we're off to Pullman, Washington where they have a festival to celebrate the local crop of lentils.
Tonight, they have Hot Dog Paradise at 8pm, but I can't find out if it features the WV Hot Dog or not.
Forget about the show and walk the walk....get a package of good frozen bread dough and a stick of good pepperoni and do some experimenting...don't make them too large. and before they are done, glaze the top with a little egg white....350' oven and watch for the golden brown...open the door and turn the cookie sheet around for even baking...
even I can do this....even put a little mozzarella in some to taste the baked cheese.
That brings up the relevant question: What is the deal with hot dogs in WV? There are hot dog places everywhere. With my high cholesterol, it would have to be something special to get me to eat one. Anybody wanna twist my arm?
I've been pinched by the boss..about that Pepproni Bun instruction...
The eggwhite is beaten fluffy and applied to the dough before baking...
that was two mistakes this week...
A great dinner at Back Bay will be an acceptable pennance.
