I will be in Ravenswood WV for the month of July. What is the nightlife like? What to do at the weekend?

Bad news for you Daihard...No nightlife in Ravenswood to speak of!! There are a couple bars in and near town but probably nothing you'd be interested in. Probably better off to stay away from the ones right in town because of DUI enforcement. There is one in Millwood on RT. 2 about 6 miles South of Ravenswood called Wolfie's that is clean and frequented by an older crowd during week nights and the young crowd on weekends. The VFW in Ripley is also a nice clean place that isn't rowdy. Ravenswood is a nice little town but if you're looking for a "party" atmosphere Parkersburg is your best bet. If you want a couple beers, conversation, and a good pool game Wolfie's or the VFW are friendly and safe places to spend an hour or two.

Ravenswood is pretty much a ghost town at night. The city cops are very strict and don't like people running around in city limits.

Ripley has a lil more to do at night, it's only 7 miles south on I-77

Default Thanks

Thank you both for your replies. Sounds much like I expected. I'm no spring chicken so won't be running around town or driving. A choice of two or three bars is fine for me.

I have been in Ravenswood for about two weeks now, and haven't really seen that there is anything to do at night. I am not a huge fan of bar-hopping, so I guess there isn't much else to do. I was happy to see that there was a bowling alley until I was told it was closed...
