Well since Cars like Mobile Homes DEPRECIATE each year you are paying the same tax as when you purchased it New!!

You dog license IS Personal Property Tax!! I no clue what that is in my area as my dogs are Service Dogs and are Free!

Blue book on my car when I got it 9 years ago was $3,000 I only know because I used it for a personal loan ... borrowed $2000

They adjust the value to match the blue book figures. I'm not going to give them an excuse to charge me more.

I understand that neighboring VIRGINIA has the 2nd-highest personal property (Vehicles) tax in the entire nation.

Maybe so, but Brooke County collects it separately. It is on the same form but you can actually pay it separately from the rest of it. https://brooke.wvassessor.com/forms/...alProperty.pdf I know cause we got new dog tags over a month ago but only paid the rest of this six months this week.

In Kanawha County, the dog tax is paid using a separate form, and has to be paid with a separate check. A number of years ago, I happened to go to the court house to pay my property taxes and turn in the assessor forms. When I wanted to pay the dog tax, they sent me across the hall to a different office where I paid the fee and left with the dog tags.

Ours may have had to be paid separately but since we paid about a month apart, it wasn’t an issue, we did anyway.
