can you reccomend some to me. I'm thinking about moving to West Virginia and need something to look into first. I'm already in school, so perhaps something that isn't difficult to transfer into. Thanks!
It would help if you gave us some clue as to major, any geographic preferences, etc.
The two major universities in WV are West Virginia University in Morgantown (north central) and Marshall University in Huntington (western region). Then there are a number of "state universities", such as West Liberty, Fairmont, Concord, Glenville, scattered all over the state.
Finally, there are some private colleges, such as Bethany, WV Weslyan, Davis and Elkins, etc.
Here's some more info/links on Marshall and Huntington that might help. Huntington is the second largest city in WV with just under 50,000 people. Marshall is the 2nd largest university in WV with around 14,000 students and has a one of the top rated Forensic Science programs in the nation along with a new focus on research. When combined, the 2 offer lots to do with various activities, sporting events, music/theater performancess and plenty of festivals. The largest shopping mall in WV is here at the Huntington Mall and one of the states only lifestyle centers is here as well, Pullman Square. For performances, we have the Big Sandy arena and the Keith Albee Performing Arts Center for bigger performances and several smaller venues as well. There's a Comedy Club at Pullman Square and the theater there is one of the top 1,000 theaters in the nation. Huntington has it's own Symphony Orchestra and is home to the largest art museum in the state as well. There are several top notch parks here as well with the best of these being Ritter Park. If you have any other questions, make sure to ask. Also, check out the movie "We are Marshall" if you want to get an idea of what the area looks like and a little bit of the history of the school.

I'm studying Radiation Therapy (medical field) and I would like to live in a place with a medium-large population that isn't to spread out or isn't entirely made of strip malls.

If you're looking at anything in the medical field, Marshall/Huntington is a great place to be. Marshall has a growing med school and Huntington is home to 2 of WV's largest hospitals which are also growing. Here's a nice promo video showing some of what Marshall has to offer:
Bluefield State College offers Rad Tech and Bluefield is a lovely little town.
