DK, I saw a lot of Luna Moths this year but all but one were dead. I decided that since he was on a concrete step I should move him first to get a nice background. He wasn't exactly very active but at least alive.
I put him a plastic shopping bag and opened it on a deck and dumped him out. He promptly flew off.
These were taken at Pipestem Resort State Park in Summers Co. On the steps going down to the tram.
Has to be the last one of the season. It was still alive. I didn't try to move it like I did before even though it was kind of sluggish because I found they revive real fast and fly off.
So not the most appealing background but you gotta work with what you got.
That was a 10 point pic for sure...lotta talent there!
We're getting these misty mornings...gives the mountains that ghosty-appeal...hope you have some ideas coming up for Fall. Can't wait...
What is so errie about Kevin Scanlons, "West Virginia Railroad Ties..is the ghosty, frosty leaves in the background...it looks like smoke billowing...somehow he sees this turmoil and places dark balanced objects at just the right places...I'm hoping that's the same reason you work at Pipestem...the old fences...the trees and the valley...can you envision it ruined with windmills? That's what Kevin was doing for us...recording history while we had some. thanks Karen...its a very special gift to see through a camera...
