I need an honest opinion on the schools and overall area of Bluefield? Is it a decent town to bring up a family in compared to the other surrounding areas? I grew up in Northeast Ohio.

Tough question. If we raised our children in Bluefield, it is unlikely that we have any knowledge of other areas in comparison. There are certainly people raising families in Bluefield with children attending those schools, without complaint.

As with all schools, remain an active parent and attend school PTA meetings and learn exactly what makes the school tick while your child is in attendance there - no matter where that school is. Schools that have active parents tend to pay more attention to every little detail in the curriculum.

Have you been to Bluefield? Did you like the area? I also grew up in NE Ohio and I would not be happy living in Bluefield. Too removed from everything for me.

You may also consider Princeton next to Bluefield.

As to schools, I know nothing about them but was surprised to read.....

You can also look at schools on the VA side of Bluefield.
