Hey everyone:

It looks like my husband has been offered a pretty good job in West Virginia. We are working out some details, but I think it's a done deal. I have been looking for a job sites to see what will be available for me. Does anyone have any suggestions that are more local (not monster and indeed)? I have checked the local papers online, but I was hoping someonw could shed some more light on this for me. Thanks in advance

In Charleston there are nursing jobs, then macdonalds, taco bell KFC type stuff. The regional jail is always hiring as is the Mount olive correctional center. They always need school bus drivers if you can put up with the little snots. State roads could use a couple of ditch diggers. Like anywhere else not many high falutin jobs without a high falutin skill.

We are moving to the Parkersburg/Marietta area. I am working on my masters degree in management and currently work as a community relations rep. for a business firm. I just can't seem to find any search sites.

I'm sort of familiar with that area Michiganmover. I grew up 30 minutes outside of Parkersburg. It's a nice little town that really get's behind it's local school system. Parkersgurg has been in a recession though and hasn't really seen much growth in the last 15 years except for the south side/Mineral Wells area.

West Virginia University has a Parkersburg campus so you should be able to continue working on your degree there.

There are a handful of sales/customer relations jobs in that area. Check with some of the local telecomm companies such as Verizon and FiberNet. Some of those companies pay a decent salary for that type of position as my wife worked as a customer relations manager for a while in that area.

I would suggest getting on Career Builder and see what is available in Parkersburg/Marietta.

Good luck and if you have any questions, there are plenty of folks on here that are good at helping out.
