"The new owner of The Greenbrier resort told members of White Sulphur Springs city council last Monday that over the weekend several senior vice presidents of casino operations had flown in from Las Vegas to interview for positions with the hotel’s planned casino and to confer with Jim Justice.
But Justice said we’ll be doing business differently here in West Virginia.
In Vegas, he said, casinos must compete for business and so offer guests generous compensation packages that can include meals, beverages, free entertainment and rooms, resulting in a giveaway of 35% of every casino dollar.
"We won’t do that," says Justice. Another difference is the issue of the dress code. In the hot desert of Nevada, patrons can show up wearing shorts and tank tops. The Greenbrier’s dress code for the casino will be suit and tie. "
This sounds good to me. No smoking allowed and people wearing something more than camoflage and a baseball cap.

Sounds like an excellent way to keep from being overwhelmed by dozens of customers.

There is a difference between "riff-raff" wanting to blow their weekly paycheck and an upscale crowd that is looking for a good time while staying at the resort.
Did anybody mention the 200 million to re-do the brier...public money because it's a national historic site and needed for the national defense....ha ha ha .
..now the congressional dweebes will be able to gamble with a Grant or two...I love this...I simply love this...
We are the most stupid people on the earth...we make any penguin seem like a genius.
No offense to the Pittsburgh tribe...#1! Red Wings WHO?

Really? Do you have a link to a news story about that?
200 Million sounds like a lot to spend on a renovation.
Seems like they could tear it down and rebuild it with that kind of money.
The East Coast Family will have their hooks in the 'brier...and as for that renovation money...got that from a high-up...will be announced later, when everything cools...
200 mill? When ONE golf course green costs 1 mill to build....and the Big White has 4 courses..plus practice areas...that's 72 million just for the golf courses...
With the government 'Rule of Thirds added to the equation, where any estimate takes 3 times as much money to do...(1/3 rd for the kick back, 1/3 for the owner, and 1/3 to do the job)
A closer estimate would be 600 mill....the scheduled delays and overcharges are not factored in with any original estimate.
Case in point would be a road I traveled yesterday, the Moneyhand Expressway....1 1/4 mile of road to no-where...began at 20 million...now, with delays and problems, $152 million...and it's still a road to no-where.
The idea in Real Estate is to buy low and sell high....the 'Brier has been a wonderful, almost free gift to someone.
The money bags being emptied, will be the out-of-our-country-folks who will be hosted by the DC crowd...fly in for a night of wild pleasure that the mid east sheiks only dream about..
Suits and Ties? We are talking about people with Real Money here....
I doubt if you will see any slot machines in the gents or ladies loos....
Las Vegas?
We have that for the poor folk, that's enough..."let them eat cake (dung), as Marie was proported to have said.
