Hmmm I'd hoped that there would be some interesting stores too. Didn't realize that it would be more of the same.

Isn't it all more of the same when it's just chain restaurants and stores all hawking the same junk? I fear the death of downtown businesses other than late night clubs.

What really helps inner city blight is low B & O Taxes and service helps...

Fairmont and Clarksburg have killed themselves with their high taxation...(2% of the Total Gross)
Opened the door for Whitehall and Taylor County to take the pie...

Look where the growth is and you will see moderate and managed taxation.

and I'll answer your question before you ask it...the answer is not to inflate the city government...both towns have done this to utter abandon and now face deficits for pensions and health care...layer of layer of related people sitting on stools and drinking coffee all day long adds up as the generation pile on top of each other...

Water bills, TV gratuities, Cell Phone gratuities, service charge here...there...after a while everyone says the same thing...

Fairmont city councilman asked the question thsi week..."Where do we move too...we've been in the same house for 35 years...now it's impossible..."

I answered him with one word...."Grafton...It's all going to be in Taylor County...Morgantown is going there and Bridgeport is too!"

He thought for a second and said...'You're right!"
