Is this the joint that was across from the VA Medical Center? If so- I never ate there. BUT prior to that Danny Rays Raw Bar was there and I ate there quite a bit. He had a good thing going..
Danny Ray had some great oysters. Came from the gulf if I recall. I'd have a half-dozen raw on the shell with tabasco, then order a half dozen Rockefeller style for dinner. Mmm-mmm...
Well, its official.According to the billboard AMY'S LOS AMIGOS is coming soon.Like i said a couple months ago i was told it would be a Mexican restaurant.
Reesey, you been told right! I love Mexican food, but that place (Amy's) is lousy. fwiw, I highly recommend Mi Degollado, but that's about 15 minutes away, in Ranson / Charles Town (I never know where those cities begin/end). Oh, and La Mezzaluna right next to Mi Degollado is also good.
As a rule of thumb, I try not to eat at a restaurant that doesn't have a proper sign. You have to assume they are cutting other corners as well. The parade of businesses there have generally looked unprofessional.....which probably has something to do with their failure.
I ate at Amy's a few weeks ago. They aren't bad and are cheap for what you get.
Mi Degollado in Charles Town and Viva Mexico in Inwood swim circles around them in quality of food, but I'd still go back to Amy's
Does anyone know what kind of place the original business in that building was? Amy's has pretty nice decor except for the hideous original (glow in the dark) carpet. I'm thinking bar or even more likely a strip club...
