I presume UFO documentation faked, on both sides of the argument.
One of my opinions on the topic is, the idea of benevolent contact with non-earth intelligent life could be a mistake. The universe is predatory and chaotic, sensless and violent, from galaxies being swallowed whole to atoms smashing into each other.
How many species sharing earth with the human, does the human actually treat with equality?
Answer : None. Humans tend to view all species on earth as subordinate, even each other. So would advanced intelligence, plant form, cephalopod, etc., have any emotion towards humanity, other than to regard it as an infestation, or an animal to be farmed? How much emotion does a human have towards a tree it fells?
Were humans capable of facing their insignicance in an encounter with a superior life form and greater intellect, they would put to bed forever the idiocy of what they consider themselves. Real encounters tend to fill the human with dread, understandably, as they have come face-to-face with the realization they are out of their league in the cosmos.
