I was curious if anybody can tell me if a disabled citizen can perform yard work, dig & wheel barrow dirt, mow grass, work on cars if they are getting a disability check?

ha ha ha...

Ask one...

If you speak to 10 random people in Wv...4 of them should be on disablilty..

Stay away from Handicapped Parking areas (with the blue tags on the windshield mirrors)...very few of those parking are disabled...

A friend moved here and asked me if that blue tag was issued with the auto license plate...ha ha ha

Observation:

Fat is now a disability...

The reason I ask this...is because my neighbor receives a disability check and can perform all kinds of major tasks around his home.

Happens all the time and it should not! I know a guy in Summersville who has been on disability for years and works all most every day.

Disability (Early Retirement) has been granted for many pseudo-medical conditions...Panic Attacks, Obesity, Phobias, COPD (Smoking) ect have written the ticket for thousands.

We are not supposed to question the wisdom of the liberal grantors of these maladies.

These are Rights by Law...they will be extended with the new Obama-care...

While I agree that there are a lot of people out there that should not recieve disability, I have to say that there are also a lot that do and don't look like it.
My wife has been on disability for several years. She has a medical condition where her spine is
deteriorating. She has had 3 back surgeries and had 3 disc removed. The last surgery she had two titanium rods, cages and 16 screws placed in her. She also had spinal fluid damage and now has a
paralyzed left foot. She has her good days and days where she can not even get out of bed because of the pain. Several times at stores she has parked in the disabled parking spot and had older people say rude remarks to her.
I guess what I'm saying is make sure a person is disabled and if he or she is not and just bleeding the system then I say turn them in.

I've honestly never understood how so many get on disability for drug and alcohol addiction, I know a guy (son of a friend of mine) who got it for this---he's only 23,and works "under the table" doing construction work!

Guy that lived across the street from me in NY scammed the system. He was a NYC Firefighter for a year, and hurt-- ready? HIS BIG TOE!! He's been out on disability (100%) for over 25 years (he was in his early twenties when this happend). All the while working as a painter, including owning his own business. To add to the insult, he ran in the local 5K road race. He was reported to the NYC F/F union, but, of course, nothing came of it.
It's this type of laziness that ruined America. Simply, no shame.

Too funny.

The people who live across the street from me are on "disability". They do nothing all day but sit out on the their porch, smoke cigarettes and drink coffee. Man oh man the life. I see the landlord came to get the check on the first of the month. They were talking about the electricity and the water being shut off. Both fat slobs can work as far as I can see. I guess going through life fat and stupid is disability. God help us.

I would contact a lawyer who is a specialist in disability law.

I agree that smoking and drug use is no excuse for ducking your own responsibility and burdening taxpayers. Their needs to be better control of the system. There are people scamming the system, but also there are people who are physically fit but mentally unfit for full time permanent employment. We provide some means for them to live, so that we aren't inundated with beggars, muggers, and pirates everyplace we go. If I cause someone to lose his only means of support, then I would be responsible for his wellbeing. i'd rather just pay taxes and not have to deal with it. Generally, when all is said and done, what works best for me is minding my own business and letting the other fellow mind his.
