David 1953
Last week in the Charleston Daily Mail there was an obituary for a David Kennedy. It was about ten days past.I hope it was not the creator of the wonderful quips about the West Virginia Hills. A place I was born and raised.
I played against Beckly in 1950 at Laidley Field.Like to communicate.
When I die, I want it to be like a Pitt Football Game...
when the game is tied and a True Freshman kicks the winning points with 3.5 seconds to go...
when the football sails through the uprights and the buckskin mountaineer fires his/her musket and begins doing the push-ups...
that's when I'll be ready to cross over to my people...
I hope they will put a mug of cold Guiness in my fist as I enter the after-game party on the other side...
Each day of our lives should be lived with the indomitable will and gusto of last nights hard fought victory...thanks you!
Indeed, David is a stellar poster. I'm glad it was not an obit dedicated to him that you read.
